In our latest podcast, Sharesify’s Steven Frazer and Ian Conway are getting that Friday fried feeling. Still, they soldier on to discuss record-breaking results from US investment bank Goldman Sachs (GS), which advised on a staggering $1.5 trillion of IPOs, cash calls and other deals.
Wall Street rival Morgan Stanley (MS) was also on fire, as deal volumes soared last year thanks to the AI dash for cash and a boom in M&A.
Steven talks through some mouth-watering IPOs which could appear this year – think Elon Musk’s SpaceX, exciting AI brainbox Anthropic and perhaps Sam Altman’s genius ChatGPT creator OpenAI.
The chaps run through some big US earnings calls next week – Intel (INTC), Netflix (NFLX), Procter & Gamble (PG) – with the latter potentially providing a read-across for London’s Unilever (ULVR) now that it has spun-off its Magnum Ice Cream (MICC) business.
Ian also flags why he keeps a close watch on copper and gold miner Freeport-McMoRan (FCX), and why it’s an important economic bellwether.
Lastly, the chaps highlight UK stocks to watch next week, with Currys (CURY), Experian (EXPN), JD Sports (JD.) and JD Wetherspoon (JDW) all in the frame.
